7: The Quizisode
As 90s kids, we were and still are obsessed with personality quizzes similar to the ones we used to take in all our fave magazines. It was a natural decision to go online and then find and take every quiz we could! Don’t worry; we will link them below with our results so you can take the quizzes, too!
Except for the Clifton Strengths, all these quizzes are free to take! You can pay for more information on some of the sites, which we did not do. We opted to do our own research where we saw fit. Clifton Strengths, is about $28 for the book, and you can unlock all your strengths for another $34 or so. We both did the latter with this particular quiz!
1. We started with the 5 Love Languages. Written by Gary Chapman. These are the 5: Quality Time, Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Physical Touch, and Giving/Receiving of Gifts. We both feel like Acts of Service has become strong because of being a mom, and anything people can do to help with tasks is so huge. Helping to relieve the “mental load” is such a big thing for moms. We have both seen this particular love language rise to the top in recent years, whereas when we took the quiz in college, there were clear winners for each of us (Carly: Still Quality Time but with a larger agp to the others, and Kelly: Physical Touch).
Carly’s Results: Quality Time (33%) with a strong Acts of Service (31%) in 2nd place.
Apology Language: Planned Change.Kelly’s Results: Acts of Service (40%), Words of Affirmation (30%), and Quality Time (20%).
2. The next quiz we took was the Myers-Briggs Personality Type through the 16 Personalities website.
Carly’s Results: ENTJ-A, Extroverted (57%), Intuitive (59%), Thinking (54%), Judging (88%), and Assertive (97%).
Kelly’s Results: INFJ-A, Introverted (61%), Intuitive (56%), Feeling (78%), Judging (83%), and Assertive (56%).
3. We took an Emotional Intelligence quiz next. The 5 categories are Self-Awareness, Other Awareness, Emotional Control, Empathy, and Wellbeing.
Carly’s Results: The Rock, Being the Master of My Own Emotions. I can regulate my emotions, even in difficult circumstances. Key callouts: Making myself feel how I want to feel, powering through challenges, and keeping a cool head in tough times.
Kelly’s Results: The Intuitive, Notcing How Others are Feeling. I notice nonverbal cues and intuitively “read the room” to determine how others are feeling. Key callouts: reading the room, being a social chameleon, and bonding over shared experiences.
4. On that same website, we took our Enneagram Personality Test. These results were slightly tougher to read so we did some outside research once we knew our strongest numbers. The Enneagram is basically a personality system that helps explain why people think, feel, and act the way they do. It’s made up of nine different personality types, each with its own core motivations, fears, and strengths.
Instead of just describing what you do (like some personality tests), the Enneagram focuses on why you do it—what drives you at a deeper level. It helps you understand your natural tendencies, blind spots, and even areas where you can grow.
Think of it like a roadmap for self-awareness—it shows both your strengths and struggles, and how you can become the best version of yourself. It’s also helpful for understanding relationships, since it explains how different people see and respond to the world.
Carly’s Results: 3 with a strong 7 influence.
"Carly is a Type 3 with a strong 7 influence, which makes her the ultimate go-getter with a side of fun. She’s driven, ambitious, and always chasing big goals, but that 7 energy adds this infectious enthusiasm and love for new experiences. She’s not just about the hustle—she’s about making the hustle exciting. She’s the kind of person who will dream big, go after it, and somehow make the whole journey feel like an adventure."Kelly’s Results: 1 with strong 3 and 2 influences.
"Kelly is a Type 1 with strong 3 and 2 influences, which means she’s the perfect mix of structure, ambition, and heart. She’s all about high standards and doing things the ‘right’ way, but she also has that 3 drive that makes her super goal-oriented and always pushing for success. And then her 2 side? That’s what makes her so caring and people-focused—she’s not just about achieving; she genuinely wants to help others thrive. Basically, she’s the friend you want when you need something done right, done well, and done with heart!"
5. And another fun one from that same site (Truity), is the Big 5 Personality Test! The Big Five assessment measures your scores on five major dimensions of personality: Openness, conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreemenable and Neuroticism (OCEAN) - which begs the question - why not call it the OCEAN assessment or oceanography?!
Carly’s Results: Openness 77, Conscientiousness 92, Extraversion 77, Agreemenable 79, and Neuroticism 0.
Kelly’s Results: Openness 71, Conscientiousness 69, Extraversion 71, Agreemenable 85, and Neuroticism 50.
6. Last but not least, because this one probably gleaned the most insight for both of us, was the Strengths Finder / Clifton Strengths.
Carly’s Results: Top 5: Achiever, Strategic, Adaptability, Leaner, Responsible
Next 5: Positivity, Maximizer, Relator, Developer, and InputKelly’s Results: Top 5: Relator, Developer, Empathy, Harmony, Consistency
Next 5: Positivity, Responsibility, Learner, Futuristic, Belief
Taking these quizzes not only made us learn a lot about ourselves but also gave us a great sense of confidence. We highly recommend taking them all!!
