30: Kindness Certified
Kindness in Action: Why We’re Supporting Kids for Peace During Podcasthon
In this episode, we are participating in a fun event called Podcasthon.
Podcasthon, Kindness, and Kids for Peace: How Small Actions Make a Big Impact
At You Handled That Perfectly, we believe kindness isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a practice. That’s why this year, we were so excited to participate in Podcasthon, a global podcast event where creators use their voices to make a difference.
We chose to support Kids for Peace, a nonprofit doing incredible work to teach compassion, empathy, and leadership to kids around the world. And because we’re a Kindness Certified company, this partnership felt like a natural extension of everything we do.
What Being Kindness Certified Means to Us
Being Kindness Certified isn’t just a title—it’s a way of living. For us, it means:
Embedding kindness into the way we work, speak, and show up in the world.
Choosing empathy over perfection in our day-to-day lives.
Modeling kindness for our kids, our listeners, and ourselves.
Treating kindness as a skill that can be learned, practiced, and strengthened.
It’s proof that kindness and impact aren’t mutually exclusive—they go hand in hand.
What Kids for Peace Does
Kids for Peace empowers young people to be leaders in kindness, inclusion, and empathy. They partner with schools to create peace clubs and programs that teach:
Conflict resolution
Emotional awareness
Inclusion and belonging
The key? These programs are student-led, meaning kids learn how to take action themselves rather than just following adult instructions.
The Impact on Schools
The benefits of these programs go far beyond simple “feel-good” lessons:
Students develop a stronger sense of belonging and community.
Kids gain tools to manage emotions, navigate differences, and lead with empathy.
Positive school culture spreads throughout classrooms, playgrounds, and beyond.
In fact, research shows that students who participate in social-emotional learning (SEL) programs experience an average of an 11 percentile-point gain in academic achievement compared to peers who don’t. Kindness isn’t just good for the heart—it’s good for the mind too.
Why This Matters
Kids today are growing up in a noisy, fast-moving world. Teaching kindness isn’t soft—it’s essential. Schools are shaping more than just academics; they’re shaping humans. Programs like those from Kids for Peace give children the tools to handle big emotions, navigate challenges, and make positive change.
How You Can Help
You don’t have to run a podcast to make a difference. Supporting organizations like Kids for Peace can be as simple as:
Learning more about their programs
Donating to support their mission
Talking about kindness with the kids in your life
Even small actions multiply when shared.
Kindness is powerful, intentional, and transformative. And when we choose to use our voices for good—whether through a podcast, a classroom, or a simple act—we’re proving that, truly, you handled that perfectly.
