27: One Year!

It’s our anniversary!

In this episode, we are celebrating our 1st anniversary!! We wanted to take this time to reintroduce ourselves and to explain a little more about the name of this podcast and why we started it.

We also want to thank you for being part of this community and for all of your support over the last year. We are so excited to see that you are listening, sharing, and engaging with us. It makes it so much better when we can do this together! We have some fun things planned for this year, so stick around!

Why we started the podcast:

To build a community that we couldn’t find.

To provide support, encouragement, and humor for other moms in the same phase of life.

To help moms feel seen.

What’s to come:

Office hours. Join our Facebook group or sign up for our newsletter to find out when we are having them and how you can get involved!

What we wish someone told us sooner / Perfectly Good Advice:

Perfect is a moving target.

Your kids don’t need you to be perfect; they need you to be present.

Doing your best means you’re handling things perfectly.

Thoughts and Feelings aren’t facts

Saying no doesn’t make you difficult, and people receiving the no are less offended than you think.

People aren’t thinking about you as much as you think they are.

People can be upset with you but still love you.

If you’re overthinking something you said, stop. The other person isn’t thinking about it. Let it go.

The best way to get someone talking and feeling comfortable is to ask about them, not talk about yourself.

Healthy love feels calm, not chaotic.

You don’t have to earn rest, joy, fun, or love.

You’re allowed to take up space.

Trust your instincts.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

Burnout is a signal to rest, not a badge of honor.

Rest is productive.

Turns out, everyone is faking it until they make it.

Comparison is the thief of joy, but it also steals clarity.

Time is a thief; enjoy the little moments and make the memories.

You don’t have to stay in a situation (job, relationship, etc.) that is toxic.

Manifest at night, your brain won’t have time to tell you otherwise.

Decluttering your space declutters your mind.

Just because someone else is talented or beautiful, it doesn’t take away from your talent or beauty.

Sleep fixes almost everything. If it doesn’t, little treats will.
